Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Yapper, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and dashboard. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website or application. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login status) over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit or navigate between pages.
2. Our Website Sets No Cookies
The pages of our website, yapper.chat, set no cookies. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to answer.
Our website counts visits without cookies, as described in section 5. If we ever add analytics or other cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting them.
3. Dashboard Cookies
When you sign in to the Yapper dashboard, it sets these cookies. They are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
dashboard_session |
Proves you are signed in when the dashboard loads its pages. | 1 hour, renewed while you use the dashboard |
id_token, access_token |
Identify you to the dashboard and authorize its requests. | Up to 24 hours |
refresh_token |
Renews your sign-in without asking for your password again. | 30 days |
invite_token |
Holds a team invitation while you finish signing in. | Until sign-in completes |
These cookies cover yapper.chat and its subdomains, so while you are signed in your browser also sends them when you open our website pages. The website does not read them.
4. Third-Party Services
- On the signup page, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the visitor is a person and not a bot. Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details for that check. Turnstile sets no cookie.
- Our website's fonts are served from yapper.chat itself, so loading a page sends no request to a font provider.
5. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use the following browser storage:
- Local storage: used to persist dashboard preferences (such as selected line or view settings) on your device. This data does not leave your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Local storage on yapper.chat: remembers your answers to the setup questions (business type, channels and how busy your inbox is) so you can pick up where you left off. They stay on your device until you clear your browser data. When you sign up, they are sent with your signup and saved to your account, where they shape your assistant's setup.
- Local storage on yapper.chat also remembers your language and your light or dark theme choice.
- Session storage on yapper.chat: holds a random identifier for the current browser tab. With it we count, in aggregate, which of our pages and setup questions visitors reach and what they answer. The events go only to our own servers, carry no cookie, name or contact details, and are never combined with data from other websites. If you sign up from that tab, the identifier is stored with your account so we can count which visits end in a signup. It is deleted from your browser when you close the tab.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, our website sends no measurement events and creates no identifier.
6. Legal Basis
Dashboard cookies are strictly necessary to provide the Service you signed in to. Our website's visit counting uses no cookies, is first-party and used only for aggregate statistics, and you can opt out of it with Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Cookies that are not strictly necessary would be set only with your prior consent, as required under applicable law including the GDPR and Mexico's LFPDPPP.
7. How to Manage Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually.
- Block cookies from specific or all websites.
- Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies.
- Configure automatic deletion of cookies when you close the browser.
Instructions for common browsers:
Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the dashboard.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies or change how we use similar technologies. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
